SQL ROUND Function: Main Tips

  • This function is needed in order to round a field containing numbers to the defined decimal numbers.
  • Most of the database systems are using the IEEE 754 standard. Which rounds .5 to the closest integer which is even. That means 10.5 and 11.5 will both become 11.
