What Makes a Good YouTube Crypto Channel?
YouTube is undeniably one of the best places to learn about crypto. It’s completely free, incredibly flexible with the forms of video content it allows, and has connected hundreds and thousands of industry experts with an enthusiastic community of learners.
As I mentioned earlier, though, the trouble is sorting out legitimate sources from shills and scam artists. Here are some criteria you can use as a benchmark:
- Transparency and Credibility: Look for channels that disclose their affiliations, sponsorships, and other potential conflicts of interest. Reputable channels will be upfront about how they monetize their content. Make sure to research the creator’s background, too. Prioritize experienced investors, especially those with an education in finance.
- Audience Engagement and Community: A channel's comment section can give some valuable insights into its quality. Look out for channels with overwhelmingly positive, generic comments – these could be bot-generated. The inability to handle criticism (for example, aggressively deleting negative comments and dissenting opinions) is another red flag.
- No Overly-Promotional Content: Be suspicious of channels that focus heavily on promoting specific niche coins or projects – those are more likely to be shills. Instead, look for channels that analyze multiple platforms and offer a balanced view.
Even if a particular YouTuber seems legitimate, though, avoid putting too much trust in their market analyses or price predictions. Research shows that a lot of them fall wide off the mark.[2] Reputable channels will always warn you not to take financial advice from them or do so at your own risk.

Alternative Resources
As useful as it is, YouTube isn’t the only platform for learning about Web3. If you’re already familiar with most of these top crypto YouTubers, you’re probably curious to check out what else is out there.
- BitDegree: Being one of the biggest Web3 learning hubs, BitDegree offers anything you could need to learn crypto (in whichever way you want to learn). Apart from the traditional tutorials and platform reviews, it also has a free Crypto 101 Handbook, a newsletter that brings the hottest news daily to your inbox, and even gamified play-to-earn Missions, among other things.
- Binance Academy: This educational platform is more focused on beginners but still has plenty of articles and videos for intermediate traders, too. The glossary alone contains 436+ terms on various blockchain-related concepts. What’s more, Binance lets you earn free crypto by completing the guides.
- Bybit Learn: Here you’ll find comprehensive guides, tutorials, and videos on the fundamentals of cryptocurrency, trading strategies, market analysis, and more. The content is split into categories for complete beginners, those ready to start trading, and developers or researchers looking for more technical knowledge about blockchain.
Additionally, all three platforms have their own YouTube channels alongside the official educational platforms.

Conclusions
YouTube has a massive and vibrant community of crypto enthusiasts. With such a plethora of choices, it can be hard to pinpoint the best crypto YouTube channels to learn from, which is exactly why I’ve done the legwork for you!
Any of the channels mentioned here would be a decent starting point. Most of them have dedicated videos for complete beginners, explaining all the basic blockchain concepts in a concise and entertaining way. If you’re a more experienced trader, you’ll probably get more out of the in-depth market commentary and interviews with crypto experts.
That being said, if my article inspired you to do your own research and dive into YouTube to search for underrated gems, watch out for scammy shill channels.
If you’re in need of some extra resources, you can check out the official learning centers of top exchanges like Binance and Bybit. Additionally, you can get rewarded for learning by completing BitDegree Missions.
The content published on this website is not aimed to give any kind of financial, investment, trading, or any other form of advice. BitDegree.org does not endorse or suggest you to buy, sell or hold any kind of cryptocurrency. Before making financial investment decisions, do consult your financial advisor.
