1. Ogvio - Send Money to the US Quickly and Easily
Ranks #1 out of 5 Money Transfer Services
- + Remittance-oriented
- + Instant transfers
- + Incremental-to-no fees
- + Crypto support
- + @Tag functionality
- + Free transfers between users
- - No card (coming soon)
If this is your first time hearing about Ogvio, I’m glad to be the one to introduce you to it. Ogvio is a new remittance platform that aims to make international money transfers faster and frictionless.
Extensive coverage is one of its main offerings. It supports more than 160 countries (with limited functionality in some) and 40+ currencies. This means you can (most likely) send money to the US no matter where you are in the world.

The platform also offers multiple transfer and payment methods to give you more options. First, you can transfer directly to an American bank account. Currently, you can choose to transfer with either regular ACH or ACH same day.
The second option is to transfer funds to another Ogvio account. I would argue that this is the easiest way to transfer your money. There is no need to type in a long and complex IBAN or address number. All you have to do is input the recipient’s unique tag, and you can send money as easily as sending a DM.
One thing to note is that transfers to any bank account, including withdrawals, require users to pass a KYC verification process. At the time of writing, most US citizens won’t be able to complete the KYC due to regulatory reasons.
If you're a US citizen who lives in a country supported by Ogvio and you pay taxes there, you will be able to pass the KYC verification process.
But no worries! You can also send funds in the form of cryptocurrencies. Yes, aside from fiat, Ogvio also supports crypto! This gives you more flexibility to send money to the US.

Another advantage of using Ogvio is its transparent fee structure. No matter what transfer method you choose, the fees will always be fair and clearly stated before you finish the transaction.
Key Features
So, now that you know what Ogvio is, let’s take a look at some of its other core offerings:
- State of The Art Security. Ogvio implements advanced 256-bit AES encryption and biometric security. It is also self-custodial by design means you’re the only one who controls your money.
- Speedy Transfers. Sending money to another Ogvio user is instant. No freeze and no long waiting time.

- No Subscription Fees. Creating an Ogvio account is free with no monthly fees and no confusing plans. You only pay when you actually use Ogvio services.
- Stable Currency Pegging. Ogvio will convert your funds to either USD or EUR upon top-up, which are two of the most stable currencies.
As you can see, Ogvio seems to be a great remittance service if you want to send money to the US.
2. PayPal - Widely Accepted in the US
Ranks #2 out of 5 Money Transfer Services
- + Easy to use
- + Simple payment process
- + Strong security
- + Wide coverage
- + Access to crypto
- - High fees
- - Not available everywhere
- - Customer support complaints
PayPal is one of several household names in remittances. Operating since the late 90s, the platform has millions of users across more than 200 countries, including the US. That said, I think PayPal’s biggest strength is how deeply rooted it is in the states’ economy.
As of early 2025, PayPal is one of the most used mobile payment apps in the United States. If you choose PayPal as your preferred service, there is a high chance that the recipient already uses it or at least has heard of it. This alone makes it a compelling choice to send money to the country.

Another strength of PayPal is its security features. The platform uses encryption and 24/7 fraud monitoring to help keep financial information secure. When sending money, your full financial details are not shared with the recipient.
However, one of PayPal’s biggest drawbacks is its fees. These include the currency conversion fee and the international transaction fee. So, consider this before you decide to use the service.
Key Features
With the basics out of the way, here are some of PayPal’s key features that make me think it is one of the best ways to send money to the USA:
- Ease of Use. PayPal’s user interface, both on desktop and mobile, is generally easy to use and doesn’t require any advanced skills.
- Buyer and Seller Protection. PayPal often includes purchase protection, especially if the transfer is for goods or services, adding a layer of security for commercial transactions.

- Payment Link. You can create a unique payment link and share it with another person so they can transfer money easily to your PayPal account.
- Spending Options. PayPal also offers features that let you make payments to various merchants, both online and physical.
As a veteran in the industry, PayPal clearly offers a comprehensive way to send money to the US. But is it the perfect choice for you? That’s for you to decide.
3. Remitly - A Specialist in International Transfers
Ranks #3 out of 5 Money Transfer Services
- + Great platform accessibility
- + 170+ receiving countries
- + Home delivery available
- + Major and local payout options
- - Escalating FX rates

Keep in mind that you can only send money from 30 countries, including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, South Korea, South Africa, Portugal, and Eurozone countries.
Why do I think this is one of the best ways to send money to the USA? Mainly, it's because of its supported transfer methods. You can send money using bank transfers, debit cards, cash pickups, mobile wallets, and cryptocurrencies. Of course, the availability depends on your region.

Additionally, Remitly’s fees are pretty transparent. You can always check how much the platform is going to charge before finalizing any transfer. However, some reviews point out that it can be hard to compare costs between different transfers.
Key Features
Now is the time to look at some of Remitly’s core offerings as one of the best ways to send money to the USA:
- Good Localization. Remitly has a broader regional availability, language support, and payout options.
- Decent Security. Remitly implements industry-standard security measures, including Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and 256-bit encryption.

- Mobile App. Remitly offers an intuitive mobile app that makes money transfer easier to access.
- Flexible Speed Options. You can choose between the Express and the Economy option to transfer money. Express is quicker but more expensive, and Economy is relatively slower but can help you save money.
So, what do you think? Is Remitly the best way to send money to the USA for you? Before you decide, make sure you compare it with other best remittance apps on the market.

4. Wise - Mid-Market Exchange Rate for International Transfers
Ranks #4 out of 5 Money Transfer Services
- + Transparent fees
- + Fair exchange rates
- + A smooth user experience
- + Multi-currency accounts
- - Service coverage is broad, but not entirely worldwide
- - Cash pickups aren’t available
- - Added compliance checks for large transfers
Markups during currency conversion are a sneaky way many services employ to profit from your transfers. But not for Wise. The platform is famous for using the real mid-market exchange rate, so you have a better net amount overall.
For example, if you’re looking into the best way to transfer money from Canada to the US and decide to use Wise, the fee will be around $5 for a $500 transfer. This fee will vary depending on your preferred transfer method, but you can always check it before making the transfer.

Table: Wise pricing information
It offers a wide range of payment methods for your transfers as well. As for the receiver in the US, they can get their money via ACH, wire, SWIFT, or email transfers. But if you hope to send cryptocurrencies using Wise, you’re out of luck since it does not support crypto. At least as of the time of writing.
Key Features
Interested in choosing Wise as your money transfer app? Take a look at some of its key features to understand the platform better:
- Multicurrency Account. Wise lets users hold, manage, and convert money in dozens of different currencies within a single account.
- Fast Transfers. Wise uses its own network of local bank accounts around the world, often avoiding the slow and expensive SWIFT system. As a result, many transfers are completed instantly (within minutes) or within 24 hours.

- Transparent Fees. You can always confirm the fees associated with your transfers before finalizing them. Wise also lets you lock in the exchange rate for a set period.
- Business Solutions. Aside from offering features for individual users, Wise also offers solutions for businesses. These include API integration, multi-currency management, and various business tools.
With its relatively better fees and wide range of features, it’s no wonder that many people consider using Wise as one of the best ways to send money to the USA.
5. Western Union - Veteran in the Remittance Industry
Ranks #5 out of 5 Money Transfer Services
- + An established money transfer service
- + Available in most countries
- + Multiple delivery types, including cash pickup
- + Various ways to fund a transfer
- - High fees and exchange rate markup
- - Outdated app interface
- - Doesn't allow long-term fund storage
If you prefer sending (or receiving) in cash, then I guess Western Union can be one of the best ways to send money to the USA. It’s been around since the 1800s, which shows that it has a good reputation in the industry.
While you might think the US has gone fully digital, cash pickup is actually still a pretty common way to receive money in the country. After all, your recipient may not have a bank account or need emergency funds.

Currently, there are more than 70,000 agent locations available in the US. This will make it easy for your recipient to find one near them and pick up their money. However, keep in mind that Western Union is not exactly the cheapest option to send money to the US.
Key Features
While Western Union is famous for its cash pickup solution, it also offers other features. Let’s take a look at some of the notable ones:

How to Send Money from Mexico to the USA
Mexico and the US share a border, and they are practically neighbors. But that doesn’t mean you have to go to the US and deliver the money yourself. Remittance is still a big thing for these two countries.
So, let’s take a look at some essential information before you learn how to send money from Mexico to USA:
Common Transfer Methods | Bank transfers, cash-to-account transfers, fintech apps, and card-to-bank transfers |
|---|---|
Average Exchange Rate (Mid-Market) | MX$1 ≈ US$0.0524 (Average for the past 5 years, changes daily) |
Transfer Time | Fintechs: minutes to a few hours; Banks: 1-3 business days. Cash transfers: near-instant to same day |
Average Fees | Fintechs: low to moderate. Banks: moderate to high. May vary by corridor and payment method |
Details Needed to Send | Valid ID (INE/IFE), CURP (for online platforms), Mexican phone number, recipient’s US bank details, or email/phone for digital wallets |
Table: Essential information for Mexico-US remittance
One thing to note for the recipient in the US. If you send money to the US as a gift, it is generally not considered taxable income.[1]
But, if they receive more than $100,000 in gifts from a foreign individual (or estate) in a single calendar year, they must file IRS Form 3520 to report it. No tax is due, but the penalty for not filing is severe.

Additionally, pay attention to some potential peak remittance seasons like holidays, back-to-school periods, and agricultural harvest seasons. These may affect the transfer speed for some providers.
With that being said. Here is how to send money from Mexico to the USA using Ogvio. In this example, I’m sending money directly to a bank account:

It is worth highlighting that the estimated delivery time for ACH transfers is between 1-2 days, unless you choose ACH same day. Also, there is a fee associated with this method. For transfers worth $100, the fee is $0.80, which is pretty cheap in my opinion.
Additionally, remember that using any features that involve a bank transfer will require you to pass a KYC verification process.
How to Send Money from India to the USA
Let’s shift our focus to another big contributor to the US remittance flow, which is India. Before we start looking at more nuances, check out this table:
Common Transfer Methods | Bank wire, fintech platforms, and forex providers |
|---|---|
Average Exchange Rate (Mid-Market) | ~ ₹1 ≈ US$0.0124 (Average for the past 5 years, changes daily) |
Transfer Time | Bank wires: 1-4 business days. Fintechs: instant to 2 days. Forex providers: 1-3 days |
Average Fees | ~1%-5% depending on the transfer size and provider |
Details Needed to Send | PAN card, purpose code, sender KYC, recipient’s US bank details (routing + account), or wallet email for some fintech services |
Table: Essential information about India-US remittance
If you live in India, you probably already know that sending money from India to the US is significantly more regulated than the reverse.
While inbound money (US to India) is welcomed with open arms, outbound money (India to US) is tightly controlled by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to protect foreign exchange reserves.
For example, senders from India have an annual transfer limit of $250,000 per financial year under the Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS). You are also subject to the Tax Collected at Source or TCS if you send more than ₹7 Lakh (around US$8,300) in a financial year.
Now that you are aware of that, let’s take a look at how to send money from India to the USA using Ogvio:

Sending to another Ogvio account is the quickest and easiest transfer method on the platform. However, there is a caveat when you want to send money to the US.
Currently, users in the US won’t be able to pass the KYC verification due to regulatory reasons. This process is required for any bank transfer-related transactions, including cashing out your balance. Keep that in mind.
If a user in the US wants to cash out their Ogvio balance, they can withdraw the funds into an external crypto wallet like Coinbase Wallet or Kraken Wallet, then withdraw it as fiat from there.
Speaking of crypto, take a look at the next section to learn how to send crypto from your Ogvio account to an external wallet.
How to Send Money from Pakistan to the USA
Another country I want to highlight in this guide is Pakistan. Let’s go over some essential information about the corridor:
Common Transfer Methods | Bank wire, debit/credit card, cryptocurrency, remittance services |
|---|---|
Average Exchange Rate (Mid-Market) | ~ 1 PKR ≈ 0.0035 USD (changes daily) |
Transfer Time | Bank wire: ~ 2-5 working days for some banks. Fintech apps: instant or same day, depending on the method. |
Average Fees | ~0.1%-10% depending on the method |
Details Needed to Send | Valid Pakistani ID, source of funds declaration (“purpose of remittance” required by some banks), KYC, SWIFT/BIC code of the US bank, recipient bank account number, and recipient’s name. |
Table: Essential information about Pakistan-US remittance
Pakistan is a lot more rigid when it comes to outbound remittance, especially for individual senders. The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) tightly restricts the outflow of USD[2] to protect the country's foreign exchange reserves.
At the time of writing, resident Pakistanis generally cannot send money abroad for personal reasons. You cannot legally walk into a bank and ask to wire $5,000 to your cousin in the US for "living expenses" or a "gift." The bank will likely reject this.
You are, however, allowed to send money for specific, documented purposes like education or medical reasons.
Since wire transfers are generally restricted, many Pakistanis use Visa/Mastercard debit or credit cards to make payments to the US. Another option is sending funds as cryptocurrencies. Take a look at how to send money from Pakistan to the USA using cryptocurrency on Ogvio:

Remember to always pick the right network when sending crypto to an external wallet. Otherwise, your crypto will never reach its destination.
Conclusions
As one of the biggest countries in today's global economy, it is no secret that millions of people around the world are looking into sending money to the United States. At the end of the day, choosing the best way to send money to USA depends on your own needs and preferences.
