There are a few successful examples in the game industry, such as Microsoft attained Activision Blizzard confirming that Xbox will focus on developing metaverse platforms. A French video game company Ubisoft did release an NFT platform Ubisoft Quartz. Besides that, the Castlevania creator, Konami, developed its own NFT collection.

Ubisoft Quartz and Digits received backlash from gamers regarding the new NFT platform. However, the vice president at Ubisoft Strategic Innovations Lab, Nicolas Pouard, responded to the negative comments saying that it was a normal reaction.

Nintendo had a live Q&A after revealing the report of its financial results. The company emphasized its appeal and saw the potential of the Metaverse, in a sense of NFTs and blockchain technology that could be implemented into their video games.

However, it’s no secret that Nintendo intends to “always provide joy”, so they are being extra careful about introducing any integrations within the Metaverse, or even releasing NFTs.
