Based on VentureBeat, LG announced the partnership during the tech conference CES 2023.

LG emphasized that the collaboration with Oorbit will let users enjoy “high-fidelity interconnected virtual worlds,” visiting virtual concerts using the next-generation gaming portal Elynxir launched by Pixelynx. Nevertheless, users will be able to access interactive multiplayer games in Auxworld, created by Auxuman.

When talking about the collaboration with LG, Oorbit co-founder and chief technology officer Pooya Koosha noted:

Our proprietary technology is the connective tissue that links virtual worlds together and makes it easy for developers and brands to bring their experiences into the Metaverse. Scaling our technology for millions of LG TV customers is the next step in making the Metaverse accessible for all.

It is reported that LG and Oorbit will work on making portable digital identities. In a nutshell, it means that users will be able to bring their persistent digital identity from game to game, experience to experience.

The head of content service division at LG Electronics Home Entertainment Company, Jung Sung-hyun, shared his excitement by stating:

At LG, we take pride in driving innovation and bringing new, personalized experiences to consumers, allowing them to easily interact. We are pleased we can achieve that now once again thanks to Oorbit’s vision to give open access to Metaverse experiences in one place on our TVs.

Nevertheless, Oorbit CEO Ash Koosha, noted that LG approached Oorbit with the goal to make Metavere accessible to more people around the world. Ash Koosha claimed that Oorbit has the same view, noting:

Our goal is for users to have access to boundless streams of entertaining content through the devices they already own. Our partnership with LG will dramatically speed our journey toward that goal.

In March 2022, LG Electronics expanded its business development goals to include cryptocurrency and blockchain-based software.
