Crypto.com to Sponsor Australian Women’s Football League

Crypto.com to Sponsor Australian Women’s Football League

One of the largest digital asset exchanges Crypto.com seals another partnership deal with a sports team; this time with the AFLW.

With Australia being quite under the radar when it comes to cryptocurrency adoption, it seems that the women’s football league will become the first sports team to be sponsored by a digital asset exchange.

The five-year deal between Crypto.com and the AFL was reported to be at least $25M, which will fund women’s sports development in the region. Likewise, the crypto exchange will be the official sponsor of the Toyota AFL Premiership Season, with secured naming rights for the AFL Score Review.

Executive General Manager Customer and Commercial of the AFL Kylie Rogers was thrilled to have the first women’s sports team in Australia sponsored by a large crypto exchange, stating:

"Crypto.com has partnered with a number of elite sporting codes across the world and the AFL is proud to be the first Australian sports league and elite women’s competition globally to work alongside an organization that shares our passion to progress the future of elite sport and technology."

Kris Marszalek, CEO of Crypto.com, told the press that the exchange is fully committed to Australia, and sees large potential for digital asset adoption in the region. Likewise, Karl Mohan, the General Manager of Crypto.com in Asia and the Pacific, conducted a consumer analysis which showed that women make up 53% of the total crypto investors in Australia.

This wasn’t the first time Crypto.com invested in women’s sports. Earlier in December of 2021, the crypto exchange partnered up with Angel City FC to bring awareness and support the team’s development.
