What is Star Atlas DAO (POLIS)?
POLIS is the native governance token of Star Atlas, which is an online strategy game based on blockchain technology that offers digital space exploration and territorial conquest. Its whitepaper states the game takes place in 2620. A constant struggle takes place between three major factions in this game – Humankind, Alien Races, and Androids – for the control of resources, territories, and political power. By contributing to the intergalactic wars, players are able to influence the outcome and receive real crypto rewards.

There are four gameplay modes within the game:
- Grand Strategy
- Exploration
- Role-Playing
- Space Flight Simulation
Star Atlas aims to complement traditional gaming with blockchain gaming by integrating with the Metaverse. As part of the platform, a digital economy is built to mimic the experience of owning an asset in the real world. Moreover, it's important to note that Star Atlas uses a hybrid mechanism of mining and staking within the game.
Use Cases of POLIS Tokens
There are two main tokens in the Star Atlas metaverse – ATLAS and POLIS. The ATLAS token provides liquidity, allowing players to receive compensation for their goods and services. The decision-making power, on the other hand, is granted to holders of the POLIS token. It allows them to influence platform development decisions at all levels. The more POLIS tokens user have, the heavier their voting power is.

Who Founded Star Atlas?
The launch of the Star Atlas DAO crypto project took place on December 16, 2021. Michael Wagner and Pablo Quiroga are the co-founders of the platform. Aside from Star Atlas, Michael is the CEO of Automata Pte Ltd and a co-founder of Multichain Ventures and Digital Asset Holdings LLC. Pablo is the CEO of Fuelixir Labs and the CRO at Star Atlas. The core team also consists of Jacob Floyd (CTO) and Danny Floyd (CPO).
