What is Shiden Network?

SDN is the native token of Shiden Network, which is a smart contract network that was built for the Kusama Network. It is important to note that the Kusama Network does not support smart contracts due to the way it was designed. As a result, the Shiden Network crypto project allows it to support such functionalities.

If we’re being more specific, the Shiden Network is a Layer 2 solution for the Kusama Network. Layer 2 solutions are extra frameworks built on top of networks to enhance their transaction speeds as well as their scalability.

Getting into the technical details, the Shiden Network works as a parachain on Kusama. A parachain is basically a blockchain that is connected to the Relay Chain of the Kusama Network. This enables Shiden to handle all of its security, consensus, and transactions easily.

In order to ensure that nothing goes wrong whenever the Shiden Network releases something new, it has created a second network called Shibuya. Shibuya is basically a test network that goes through any and all new features just to make sure that they are working just as planned.
