What is HOPR?
The HOPR token is the utility token of the HOPR network, which is an Ethereum-based project that aims to find a lasting solution for privacy and data problems faced globally. HOPR gives users full ownership of their data. Thus, they can decide whether they want to share it or not, as well as with whom they want to share it. If you want to see the current HOPR price, take a look at the HOPR price chart featured above.
One of the features that HOPR offers to solve the problems of data privacy is routing protocols called mixnets. In essence, they give users the ability to mask the data they exchange on the internet. As the name suggests, they mix up their internet network connection in order to break the link between the sender and the receiver of data. Another feature is cover traffic. This feature sends random data of no value through the mixnet protocols to add more traffic.
When the traffic on mixnets is too low, users themselves can supply traffic. By doing that they increase the efficiency of the mixnet. Besides, traffic suppliers are compensated for their work.
Who Founded HOPR?
HOPR was founded by Sebastian Bürgel. He has a degree in information technology and electrical engineering. In the past, Bürgel was the CTO of Validity Labs. Besides, he is also the co-founder of SONECT.
Use Cases of HOPR Tokens

Secondly, HOPR tokens are utilized for rewarding network users. This includes stakers, node operators, and traffic suppliers.
Lastly, HOPR tokens provide users with governance rights. This means they have a say in the future development of the HOPR crypto project.
