Parag Agrawal, who once led Twitter before it was rebranded as X, has introduced his new company called Parallel Web Systems Inc.
His new project is designed to give artificial intelligence (AI) agents the ability to search the internet, gather data, and process it without direct human input.
The company’s debut product, Deep Research API, is at the center of this strategy. In an August 15 LinkedIn post, Agrawal explained that the tool performs better than people and even some of the strongest AI systems, such as OpenAI’s GPT-5, on selected research tasks.

After leaving Twitter in 2022, Agrawal began reviewing academic research, writing code, and rejecting several offers from companies that wanted him to lead turnarounds.
Speaking to Bloomberg, he suggested that users will soon deploy dozens of these agents to act on their behalf online. He predicted that this shift could begin as early as next year.
