What is Blockchain? (Animated Examples + Explanation)
Previously, ChatGPT could help users explore product options by showing prices, images, reviews, and links to online shops. Currently, users can complete the entire process, from finding an item to making a payment, directly within the conversation.
After confirming the purchase, users can choose from several payment options like Apple Pay, Google Pay, Stripe, or a credit card.
OpenAI has also announced that it will release the underlying technology behind Instant Checkout, known as the Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP).
Built with Stripe, ACP will be made open source, which allows other businesses and developers to add this type of shopping experience to their own platforms or apps.
Stripe’s President of Technology and Business, Will Gaybrick, noted that "Stripe is building the economic infrastructure for AI", and that involves rethinking how digital shopping works to support AI-assisted experiences.
