The Appeals Court in Montenegro overturned the High Court of Podgorica's previous decision to extradite Do Kwon, the co-founder of Terraform Labs, to the United States.
This decision was announced officially on March 5, challenging the initial approval given on February 20 for Kwon's extradition for alleged criminal offenses.

The appellate judges cited "significant violations of the provisions of criminal procedure" in local law, pointing out the lack of "clear and valid reasons" in the extradition request's documentation.
The Appellate Court had already invalidated the decision to deport Kwon in December 2023 for lack of justification.
This is the latest update in a series of legal proceedings in Kwon's case since he was arrested in Montenegro in March 2023 for possessing fake travel documents.
