In order to do that, the Starcoin crypto project employs the Enhanced Proof-of-Work (PoW) consensus mechanism and Move-based smart contracts, as well as offers Layer 2 interoperability.
Starcoin tokens have three main use cases – trading, mining, and governance. In terms of trading, STC can be traded on a variety of CEXs and DEXs, including Starswap, a decentralized exchange developed by Starcoin. Considering mining, nodes who mine new blocks on the Enhanced PoW mechanism are rewarded with STC coins.
