What is Particl (PART)?

Particl was introduced in July 2017 and it is a decentralized financial platform. The Particl blockchain stays up-to-date with the latest Bitcoin Core codebase while using Particl Proof-of-Stake (PPoS) combined with cold staking to guarantee transactions are secure. The main products of the platform are the PART cryptocurrency and the Particl Marketplace.

The Particl Open Marketplace is a secure, private, and low-cost eCommerce platform that combines the advantages of blockchain technology with those of peer-to-peer networks. It has no central authority and is fully owned and managed by its users. It allows users to buy and sell various products and services without any restrictions or middlemen.

The platform employs the Open Market Protocol, which is split into two distinct formats. The first – the public listing format – contains all of the data related to a certain item or service that has been posted for sale. This includes its title, description, images, payment destination, and other similar details. The second one – the private message format – holds information that must remain confidential such as transaction information, conversations between seller and buyer, and buyer's address.

PART Use Cases

The PART coin is the exclusive form of money used within the Particl market economy. It is accepted by all applications in the Particl ecosystem, such as the Particl Marketplace.

Also, PART serves as a way to measure voting power in the network's decentralized and democratic governance system. The Particl governance system gives users the ability to shape the future of the project. By simply holding PART tokens, users can partake in moderating the Particl Marketplace as well as casting votes on important project decisions.

Moreover, PART coins can be utilized to make international payments that are completed in a matter of seconds, avoiding the need for any intermediaries.

Finally, users can stake their Particl coins to earn rewards. The rewards are paid out using fees generated by other Particl applications such as the marketplace.

Who Founded Particl?

Particl was created by Paul Schmitzer and Ryno Mathee in July 2017. It is the successor to the ShadowProject, a privacy cryptocurrency project that began in August 2014.

Paul graduated from Ohio State University, with a degree in Architecture. Before starting Particl with Ryno, he worked at AECOM as a senior planning and design architect. He also engages in real estate and he is the owner of LiteBit properties.

Ryno works as the President and CTO of the platform, and he is an experienced software developer. Furthermore, he is an entrepreneur who has founded over 3 tech companies, including Blocktix BV, ChainEx, and Lunatech.
