What is Metal (MTL)?

MTL is the native token of the Metal Pay platform founded by Metallicus. It essentially allows users to make instant payments with crypto assets. However, they can also link their bank accounts and use their cash balances. Furthermore, all transactions made on the platform are free, meaning there are no transaction fees.

The max supply of MTL is 66,588,888 tokens. This means that the token is deflationary. Over time, the supply will become more scarce, leading to an increased MTL price.

The Founders of Metallicus

The Metal crypto project was developed by a company called Metallicus. It was founded by Marshall Hayner and Glenn Mariën.

The Metal coin was launched in June 2017, following an Initial Coin Offering (ICO). At the time, the Metal price was $1.67. The asset has shown mild-to-high volatility from its early days in the market. Additionally, it tends to follow the broader bullish and bearish crypto market sentiments.

During its first year since listing, the MTL price peaked at $14.82 (September 2017). However, once the so-called Crypto Winter began, the asset's value plummeted to $0.20. Marshall Hayner is the CEO of Metallicus. He refers to himself as a serial entrepreneur and crypto enthusiast. Prior to founding Metallicus, Hayner worked at the Stellar Development Foundation as a contractor and served as CMO at Block.io. Besides that, he founded Blockai.

Glenn Mariën is the CTO of Metallicus. He is a full-stack developer who refers to himself as a crypto wizard. Before founding Metallicus, he worked at companies such as Cronos, Fenego, and iDA Mediafoundry. Besides, he launched such projects as Dogechain.info and BitBetween.

The team is also accompanied by Irina Berkon, who is the CFO of Metallicus. She is a pioneer in the field of corporate finance. Besides working with Metallicus, she is a Managing Director of Golden Seeds, as well as co-founder and director of First Blockchain Bank and Trust Holdings.
