What is Energi (NRG)?

The ​Energi coin or NRG is the native coin powering the Energi ecosystem. NRG is deployed on the Energi blockchain.

NRG is the driving force behind the Energi crypto project. NRG holders can stake their tokens and participate in the process of securing the network. Holders receive crypto rewards for doing this. Furthermore, NRG grants governance rights.

The Energi coin was launched without the help of an ICO or pre-mine events.

Energi does not have a max supply of NRG. Instead, the platform issues around 1,000,000 NRG tokens every single month. This monthly supply is allocated as follows:

• 10% - Backbone.

What are the Main Features of Energi?

Energi is a cryptocurrency project powered by a self-funding treasury system. One of the primary goals of the project is to accelerate the mass adoption of cryptocurrencies by providing a sustainable crypto project.

As discussed in the What is Energi section, Energi allocates a million tokens to 4 different systems: treasury, masternodes, stakers, and backbone.

The project’s treasury is unique as it has an integrated self-funding mechanism. It’s responsible for allocating funds for the development of the project itself.

Energi has a network of masternodes. The core function of masternodes is to validate transactions. However, they’re not limited to securing the network. Masternodes are also a crucial part of the decentralized on-chain governance model.

As mentioned in the What is Energi section, staking is a key element in securing the network. This is because Energi operates using a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism.

Stakers' allocation refers to the number of tokens sent to the staking rewards. Users can stake their NRG tokens and receive staking rewards. These rewards are taken from the stakers token allocation.

Furthermore, Energi has implemented referral rewards. This means that users who have successfully referred their friends to the platform receive exclusive bonuses within the Energi ecosystem.

Who Developed Energi?

The Energi crypto project was founded in mid-2017 while its mainnet was launched in the first half of 2018 by tech entrepreneur Tommy Rostami.

Rostami has a background in economics and has been in the crypto industry since its early days. However, Energi is his first blockchain-based venture. 

Prior to founding the platform, he worked as a sales manager at Platinum Protection and AMP Security and went on to work as a senior consultant in three different companies. 

He has also been creating content on the CryptoCurrency platform for over 8 years. Currently, Rostami is taking up the position of CEO at Energi Core.
