Messi Reportedly Signed $20 Million Deal with Socios to Launch Digital Tokens

Based on a report by ESPN, the former FC Barcelona player and current PSG forward Lionel Messi has signed a partnership deal with Socios to launch a collection of digital fan tokens. The deal was reportedly worth more than $20M and will be valid for three years.

With the agreement, according to Socios, Messi will become the Global Brand Ambassador by interacting with fans through social media and bringing brand awareness to the fan token platform.

Socios has already launched numerous fan tokens for several world-renowned soccer clubs like FC Barcelona, PSG, AC Milan, Juventus, Valencia, Inter Milan, Manchester City, Arsenal, alongside partnerships in other sports like the NFL, NBA, MMA, etc.

CEO of Socios Alexandre Dreyfus spoke on the partnership with one of the best soccer players in the world, stating:

Lionel Messi himself chimed into the agreement with Socios, highlighting the passion of his fans for the game, hopes that they can participate in the journey of bettering their favorite teams and become a part of a "more connected and rewarding future."

The news came in just a week after PSG had posted several trademark listings for NFTs and the metaverse, showing the clubs' interest in blockchain technologies.
