The highly awaited token launch for Hamster Kombat, a viral tap-to-earn game on Telegram, is set for September 26. Ahead of the launch, developers have shared important details about the upcoming airdrop.
Players will be able to claim only 88.75% of their HMSTR tokens immediately, while the remaining 11.25% will be unlocked in July 2025.
This unexpected delay has caught many players off guard, leading to frustration within the community as the vesting period was not previously disclosed.

60 billion HMSTR tokens will be distributed in the airdrop, accounting for a large share of the total 100 billion token supply. An additional 15 billion tokens are set to be released during the game's Season 2.
It was also revealed that out of the game's massive player base of roughly 300 million users, only 129 million will actually receive tokens in the airdrop. While 131 million players initially qualified, around 2.3 million were disqualified for cheating.
The large number of players has sparked concerns about whether TON can handle the expected demand. In August, TON faced two outages due to a spike in network traffic following the launch of the DOGS memecoin.
Overall, the announcement of this vesting schedule, alongside the disqualified players, has led to mixed reactions, but the token's debut later this week will likely draw even more attention to the game.
