A tribute event on a Metaverse project Byte City will see a digital version of Lee delivering martial arts lessons, marking the 50th anniversary of his passing in a unique way.
On July 26th, Byte City unveiled plans to offer users an opportunity to interact with an avatar of Bruce Lee.

In a bid to bring this tribute event to life, Byte City has joined forces with Shannon Lee, Bruce Lee's daughter, and tech giant Samsung Gaming.
In a press statement, Shannon Lee highlighted that this innovative gaming experience allows fans to honor her father's legacy in an extraordinary way.
To participate in the initiative, customers have to mint avatars on the Ethereum and Polygon networks starting at 9 AM PST on July 27th for Polygon and July 28th for Ethereum.
After a 24-hour window post-minting, those who secured their avatars on Ethereum or Polygon can partake in Byte City's Metaverse game. This game, offering an immersive digital experience with the martial arts legend, will be available on desktop browsers and mobile devices (iOS and Android).
This is not Bruce Lee's first appearance in the Web3 universe. On April 12th, an NFT collection named "The House of Lee" was launched by The Bruce Lee Foundation, also led by Shannon Lee, in partnership with NFT video platform Shibuya.
The collection raised a hefty $730,000 upon release. However, the excitement quickly deflated when NFT holders discovered the uniqueness of only one NFT in the entire collection.
The digital re-emergence of Bruce Lee in the Metaverse reflects the fusion of past legacy and future technology. As the Metaverse expands, we can expect to witness more such creative integrations that keep the spirit of our idols alive in new, unprecedented ways.
