Canadian Internet Provider Accepts Crypto for Services

The Quebec-based telecommunications company oxio became the first-ever internet service provider to let customers pay in cryptocurrencies.

Several industries outside crypto are already participating in the implementation of blockchain technologies and the adoption of digital assets. In fact, one internet service provider in Canada now accepts Bitcoin from its customers.

The Canadian internet provider oxio offers its services to locals in Quebec, Ontario, and British Columbia. The ISP is attempting to attract its services to millenials as the adoption of cryptocurrencies has increased immensely amongst the younger population.

The CEO and Co-founder of oxio Marc-André Campagna spoke on the adoption of cryptocurrencies, and the company’s decision to accept payments in digital assets, stating:

"As the first independent digital ISP in Canada, it was obvious for oxio to offer its customers a payment method built for the people of the internet. Canadians are more and more interested in cryptocurrency and we are happy to offer them a way to pay their bills with their preferred cryptocurrency; whether it's Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin or others."

Amongst the previously mentioned cryptocurrencies by the CEO, customers will also be able to pay their internet bills via Bitcoin Cash, Dai, and USDC.
