Binance $4.71B Labs has officially rebranded as YZi Labs, considering its focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and biotechnology alongside blockchain technology.

Former Binance CEO, Changpeng Zhao (CZ), will remain actively involved, mentoring and guiding startup founders supported by YZi Labs.

While YZi Labs explores opportunities in AI and biotech, it remains committed to supporting Web3 innovation and projects with long-term potential.

“Rebranding to YZi Labs is more than a name change—it reflects our ambition to explore new fields like AI and biotech while staying rooted in Web3,” said CZ.

Ella Zhang, a co-founder of Binance Labs, is returning to lead the newly branded initiative. During her earlier tenure, she supported over 40 startups, including Polygon MATIC $0.1995 and Injective INJ $5.57 , through its incubation programs. Zhang stated:

I’m excited to rejoin YZi Labs at this pivotal moment and reconnect with our founders and community. <...> Our mission remains unchanged: to empower visionary founders who are building for the long term with strong execution.

YZi Labs will relaunch its 12-week in-person residency program as part of the rebranding. This initiative aims to provide a collaborative environment for project founders to refine and develop their ideas in emerging industries like AI and biotechnology.
