What is MonkeyLeague (MBS)?

MBS is the native token of MonkeyLeague, which is a next-generation eSports metaverse that allows players to create, play, compete and earn through a soccer game. It is based on the Solana blockchain and it incorporates multiplayer gaming, NFTs, and decentralized finance (DeFi). The final product is a stimulating and turn-based game, which is described by the founders as “easy to learn yet hard to master”. MonkeyLeague was formerly known as the MonkeyBall, but it was rebranded at the beginning of 2022.

A requirement of the game is to create a team of four monkeys (called MonkeyPlayers) in the positions of striker, midfielder, defender, and goalkeeper. The gamer needs to focus on the abilities of the monkeys to increase their chance to win. Each match compromises 12 rounds. Every round is completed when both teams have completed their turns. Based on the monkey’s movements, a team can use five options to beat its opponents, such as moving, passing, dribbling, and shooting the ball. Besides, there's an extra option called “special move”.

The game includes two extra assets – MonkeyAthletes and Stadiums, which can be owned by the game's players.

What is extra about this project is that MonkeyPlayers are also NFTs. Each is a unique combination of 32 traits composed of its Appearance, Game Skills, and Game Perks. With 2.5 trillion potential permutations, a limited number of Monkey NFTs can be available. Each has position scores for each position, which give a player information on the monkey's skill level and current power of the actions within that position.

Stadiums are assets that serve as passive income generators for players. Due to the different tiers of stadiums, owners can host matches, tournaments, or events and collect rewards for that. As the game develops, stadium owners will be able to upgrade their facilities and expand their offers.

Use Cases of MBS Tokens

The project has a dual token system. The MonkeyLeague coin (MBS) is the main in-game currency, called the “MonkeyBucks”. On top of that, the MonkeyLeague will also launch the governing token of the UnCaged ecosystem called SCORE.

Players can use the MBS token in the MonkeyLeague marketplace, to exchange it for essential game items from the in-game store, such as Energy, Nutrition, and MedCare. It can also be earned as a reward for scoring goals, completing missions, and winning matches and tournaments.
